20 Years of Crunchy Cream

Ovomaltine feiert 20 Jahre Crunchy Cream.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Ovo Crunchy Cream, Ovomaltine and Wirz put the fans in the spotlight. As part of the anniversary campaign, a project was launched in which the community designed the posters themselves—from the first sketch to the finished design.

The Challenge

Ovo Crunchy Cream has been Switzerland’s crispiest spread for 20 years. What many don’t know: The product originally owes its creation to Ovo fans who once sprinkled Ovomaltine powder on their bread. So how can this anniversary be celebrated in a way that puts not only the product but also the community in the spotlight?

The Benefits

Wirz and Ovomaltine turned the fans into creatives in no time. Over 2'500 Ovo fans signed up for an open casting call, and five were selected to participate in the anniversary campaign during a workshop held directly at the Ovo factory. From the initial idea to the headline and the finished poster, they developed their own designs. The project was accompanied by social media spots and influencer content that documented the creative process and generated additional reach.

The Result

The result was five original posters that were displayed throughout Switzerland. Authentic, creative, and by fans for fans. An anniversary campaign that shows: When a community helps invent a product, it should also be allowed to tell its story.
