Communicating Sustainability Successfully with Psychological Insights
Prof. Dr Johanna Gollnhofer, Professor of Marketing at the University of St. Gallen (HSG) will talk about a topic that has been influencing and putting pressure on all of us for some time: The demand for sustainability and how to communicate it convincingly as a company.
Many companies have already done their homework on sustainability. Over the last few years, more and more sustainability strategies have been developed, implemented, reviewed and refined. However, the sustainable efforts and successes often do not really reach customers, employees and other stakeholders, are sometimes misunderstood and, in the worst case, accusations of greenwashing arise. So how can sustainability really be communicated? Using consumer psychology studies, we look at how sustainability affects people and how people can genuinely be engaged.
Prof. Dr. Johanna Gollnhofer is Managing Director of the Institute for Marketing & Customer Insight and Delegate of the Dean for Quality Development at the University of St. Gallen (HSG). She researches, lectures and advises companies on issues in the field of customer-centric marketing and on trends such as sustainability.
